I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #94162). With over 25 years of experience in the human service realm. I have come to believe that what is most essential in therapy is the therapist-client connection. I strongly believe in the uniqueness of an individual, and do not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all approach. The guiding tenets of my work include authenticity, compassion, and creating a safe environment needed for deep healing and lasting change.
When the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain of changing, people often seek professional help. Everyone has their own story and struggles, just as everyone has their unique strengths. Times of adversity often cause us to lose sight of our strengths. My focus is to help people be the best version of themselves. My practice is intended to focus on the strengths you already have and strategically build on those strengths to develop new ways to cope with any difficulties you might face in your life.
I seek to help clients create deeper awareness and insight into their motives, defenses, and desires. Together we explore patterns that contribute to struggles and dissonance in day-to-day life.
My past clinical experiences include providing outpatient psychotherapy services in community -based mental health clinics, and a professional medical group practice (psychotherapy services). In addition to my clinical background, I also teach psychology courses to undergraduate and graduate students. I have held leadership positions in both the clinical and academic fields.
